Sunday. Nov. 12th

The forecast for today predicted a good 3 meters swell and force 4 to 5 north-westerly winds. I got up early and had my soon to become obligatory breakfast at the bar in Mandriola. From there I could see that the swell had already arrived as the Logger wave in front of the bar was breaking quite nicely. As there was not much wind yet I decided to take what was on offer and went for a longboard surf session here.

I had just paddled out when a set arrived, and I immediately scored a nice long ride. But after this it stayed flat for a long time until finally another set big enough to break here arrived. It was pretty crowded too as everybody knew it would pump this weekend and it was sunny and fairly warm. I stayed patient and had a couple of waves until the wind picked up.

Back at the van I had some more coffee. As I was parking in town I went over to Mini Capo to have a look. Waves here were big enough to surf but too small to take advantage of the increasing wind and do some wave-sailing. But in the distance around the point I could spot kites and sails. Obviously, THE cape was on.
