As it started to rain again I took the quickest way back to my van and headed for Santa Teresa de Gallura. On the way I had a view down to one of the west facing bays and saw a few waves breaking, that looked worth checking. So, I drove down through a now deserted holiday village to the beach. The odd wave was coming in, but it was tiny and just enough to see that there was some potential here.

So, I continued to Santa Teresa, which was also pretty deserted but due to the ferry port and the size of the town big enough to keep some basic infrastructure running year-round. I found my actually most needed infrastructure in a classic “Bar Central” and went in for a Cappuccino, some Brioches and a visit at the “Bagni”.

Then I hit the road again and drove along the north-west coast with destination Sinis Peninsula down at the west coast, where the upcoming wind and swell would hopefully create some epic windsurfing and surfing conditions. Despite the many curves I kept an eye at the Sea as often as I could. At iIsola Rossa I left the main road and drove down to the bay. Again a few waves were rolling in but again they were just big enough to give hints on what might be possible here during a bigger swell. So, I got back to the main road and immediately had to make a detour as the coastal road was closed.
