Right in front of the campsite lay a cluster of wooded buildings with a few restaurants, cafés and shops. I passed these and continued in direction to the harbour. In a sort of no mans land in front of the ferry pier I met the first human being who was leading two small dogs on a leash. Coming closer I realized this was a female human being of otherworldly beauty. I was almost shocked by her aura.

She greeted me friendly when I was close enough and I shily replied and passed her. For a moment I pondered turning around and return to ask her if I could take a photo of here as it would be impossible to describe how she looked (and nobody would believe me anyhow without some photographic evidence). But then I remembered the strange things happening on my bicycle tour and fragments of Nordic sagas sprung into my mind. Maybe she was some Nordic goddess and the dogs at the leash were people like me who had been caught by her magic aura and asked stupid questions?

So, I continued my walk with a good dose of confusion for the second time since my arrival. Iceland had been living up to its reputation as an island where strange – some are convinced it is magic – things happen. Absorbed by these weird thoughts I didn´t pay much attention to my surrounding on the way to the small fishing harbour and therefor didn´t see the attack coming. It was an Arctic Tern again coming down on me like a WWII Stuka, passing my head within a few decimetres distance while uttering aggressive noises.
