climate:

relatively mild winters with temperatures between 5^o and 12^o C, cool summers with 15^o to 25^o C. Water temps between 10^o and 16^o C. Definitely the mildest part of Bretagne but still wetsuits needed year round.

Rain comes regularely year round but never stays long.

wind:

Main wind direction is west. As depressions pass it usually starts with south to southwesterly winds and a lot of rain. The wind than normally turns west and later northwest . Autumn, winter and spring are the windiest seasons. Heavy gales are not uncommon in winter. Summer is usually much calmer but never completly without wind. Sunny days have late afternoon breezes which are strong enough for some crusing with large windsurfboards or big kites.

waves:

the swell window goes from southwest to northwest. Winter sees solid waves. Spring and autumn has waves allmoste every day. Summer is still o.k. with some small waves and a bigger swell once in a while

Generally best wind directions for surfing are easterly directions. South also works quite good.

shortboards around 6´4´´ and / or longboard

windsurf equipement

waveboards and sails from 4.4 to 6.5 are the usual call in the windy season, summer brings freestyle and cruising conditions with sails up to as big as You get

plenty of holliday houses to rent, hotels and campgrounds in the towns.

eat:

All that You need. Auray, Carnac and Quiberon have the most supermarkets and restaurants.

party:

some bars and discothecs in Carnac, Quiberon and small towns in between, more nightlife in Auray
