Saturday morning was cold but sunny. I had a quick breakfast and then walked over to the point to check the conditions. The wind was blowing with about 20 knots from a north-westerly direction, perfectly side-shore but with many ups and downs in the wind speed and a tendency of being too light. A fellow windsurfer was out, but soon came back in. Waves were still breaking ok in the 1.5m range, which in combination with the lighter wind made for some nice surfing conditions.
Consequently, the line-up soon filled up with surfers. Some of them had some nice long rides, but you really had to know which waves to paddle for. I was tempted to paddle out too, but it already was pretty crowded – for a point break – and I generally was more in the mood for windsurfing. One of the local windsurfers was checking the conditions too and we chatted about the spot and his session yesterday, including his partial annihilation by that closeout yesterday.
