This was the end of the road and it would have been nice to park the van and go for a hike but I didn´t have enough time for this. So, I drove back to the south and had a stop at the rock again on a small parking along the road. I had a second breakfast with quite a bit of a view.
Then it was time to drive back to Torshavn. As much as I liked the Faroe Islands, I did not want to miss the ferry to Iceland. On the way back, I had a short stop to get a view on some more interesting cliffs on Vagar before I dove into that tunnel to Streymoy again.
You have to pay a passage fee for the tunnel on returning but there was no ticket point neither at the entrance nor at the end of the tunnel. Probably the ticket fee is collected electronical for residents but I had not booked anything yet. I was already afraid to get a fine but then recognized a sign saying that the fee can be paid at the first gas station after the tunnel. But there was no gas station at the tunnel exit and I had to drive on the main road for quite a while until I found it. It is situated at a cross road already two thirds of the distance to the other side of the island.
